You need to do the following, to be able to pick up the ground spawn Journal in the Smoldering Trenches.

  • Go to the NPC camp in the Ashbreather Enclave’s eastern entrance
  • Click the Filed Note Index book on the table in the tent with Gwenolyn and Eldrin
  • Talk to Gwenolyn and Eldrin
