Got this last night Feb 7 2025 after killing Nydar one time. The damage shield does about 9 damage per hit, but some of it gets mitigated I did a quick test vs a grey con mob and the damage shield does not seem to generate noticeable readiness

can confirm we had it drop a couple of days ago. cool skin, damage seems good against fast attacking mobs and by all accounts it should give the wearer more threat as the damage comes from them.

Just got one last night. On gray mobs I see hits for 12 damage, on dark blue / white mobs it's pretty consistently 9. It can also crit. One more interesting bit of info with this shield is that it stacks with the summoner "shield of spinning X" spells. I had shurikens on myself last night which was doing about 14 damage a swing when enemies were hitting me and BoC was also dealing damage with every hit. So dealing about 21-23 damage every time you get hit is a really nice DPS boost and threat boost.

Has anyone tested what the damage from the shield scales off of? I see high numbers posted here, but it only does about 6 damage on my level 14 warrior.

I think the shield has a base damage rating of 12. It is physical damage. The con of the mobs and their armor rating will affect how much damage that BoC does when you're taking hits. Whites/Yellows/Oranges+ etc. will take less damage, and in some cases resist the damage fully sometimes. This indicates to me that Defense rating (will it hit or not?) and resistance/armor (OK, it hit -- how much is mitigated?) impact the damage. Since the damage is physical I would assume Armor is the primary factor for BoC damage mitigation. Also, a bit unrelated but I had a Cleric in my group hit me with the Inspire Allies buff (currently bugged as of 3/17/2025) and Brace of Claws was doing like 32 damage per strike (52 mitigated according to the combat logs!) against chevron'd knightwolves during my last play session.

Got 5 nydar in a row acrost three shards and got a sheild hat arrow arrow sheild on the second day. The first day we got arrows galore a monk fist a hat and then quit for the day

The shield does not proc with you in a cleric bubble. Causing cleric war or cleric pal duos to no longer use bubble kinda a disapointment on that aspect otherwise its great. Spams 7 or more dmg constantly basicaly

In case anyone doesn't know, the damage buffs from warmonger's totem and from the Ghaldassi necklace also affect the damage shield of the Brace of Claws. When I have both of these going the damage is around 15-16 instead of 11-12.
