Seem to only spawn at night, but I'm not 100% sure. I've only personally seen them at night, but take that with a grain of salt.

These definitely spawn or night They spawn at location 3103.69. 515.88 3401.65. In front of the cave . This is the rat that dropped it for me

I was able to spawn this mob 4 times in the day time from the above spawn location. Definitely not a night only spawn as of the date of this post.

I found a rat in the same basic area, but around the little leaning stone shrine with the purple gem near the top and a gloomy atmosphere. This was during the day.
