"Hey folks.\n\nThis news section will mostly be used to communicate Shalazam news; we're not going to re-post every VR announcement (but may link to significant VR news).\n\nSo what better way to start than with an update on what we're up to with Shalazam. PTR has changed things up a little — there's a lot changing with itemization almost every week, and apparently lots more to come. We didn't consider it worth spending the time playing whack-a-mole with the changes just yet.\n\nThe item database will therefore inevitably fall a bit behind. Some updates are being made, but there's too much going on to keep up with it all. Don't worry though — we'll catch up once the patch hits live and things settle down.\n\nWe're already collecting the new class abilities from the test realm behind the scenes and will revamp all of this soon. You may also have noticed we already have brand new [Mastery](/masteries) pages — these are pretty much up-to-date with PTR already, and will get new classes added as soon as they're revealed.\n\nNPCs are getting regular updates too; new ones will be added as we find them, and we're already removing defunct trait vendors, etc.\n\nQuests and Recipes (crafting) haven't had much love for a long, long time — we may just drop most of that entirely, as nobody really wants the workload of keeping it all up to date with each cycle of changes. That said, we will keep provisioning and alchemy recipes, as they're a handy reference and manageable to keep updated.\n\nThanks for using Shalazam :)\n\n## Current Status\n\nUpdated 2026-07-16.\n\n* **Abilities** - all Abilities still reflect live. We will mass-update them to reflect PTR soon (probably sometime in July). **Masteries** however are fully updated for PTR.\n* **Items** - ongoing; being updated to reflect PTR daily\n* **Mobs** - other than chevrons being dropped we don't believe much has changed with regards to levels or placement, so there's not much to do here atm\n* **NPCs** - mostly updated for PTR. May be some stragglers, we're cleaning them up.\n* **Quests** - all quests reflect live servers. See above for notes on Quests\n* **Recipes** - all recipes reflect live. Again see above for notes"
