I should be standing before the Thronefast delegation right now, shaking hands and proving, once again, that the Halflings of Wild’s End are competent, reliable allies. But instead? I’m here, seething, because the road ahead is blocked-not by trees, not by weather, but by Orcs.
The path from Wild’s End to the Eastern Plains has always been a little treacherous. The Grovegrass is unpredictable, the hills give way to winding trails, and further you go, the less Halfling it feels. The road isn’t ours anymore-it belongs to whoever’s strong enough to keep it.
This is an embarrassment. No, worse - it’s a disaster waiting to happen. If Thronefast thinks we’re losing control of our own borders, the’ll start sending more than just diplomats. So, we need to fix this before they even hear about it.
That’s where you come in. Kill them. Fifteen should do. Let’s send a message - - one they’ll understand.
Hand-in Quest NPC:
You may not care much for diplomacy, but believe me-our relationship with Thronefast matters. If we stand strong, we are allies. If we show weakness, we become a curiosity-an afterthrought, a land they’ll claim to ‘protect’ when it suits them.
So, for now, the road is clear. The deligation can move forward, and we get to pretend, for a little while longer, that Wild’s End is still ours.
