It seems they have adjusted the mild frigid zone to stop some distance prior to the cave and it gets much worse. Does it go back to being mild deeper in the cave? If not, how are people expected to fight there way through there AND deal with the extra cold?
It seems buggy if you loot it off your corpse. It refreshes properly if you unequip then reequip or zone or logout and back in. This is a problem with all Carry weight bags.
Got this last night Feb 7 2025 after killing Nydar one time.
The damage shield does about 9 damage per hit, but some of it gets mitigated
I did a quick test vs a grey con mob and the damage shield does not seem to generate noticeable readiness
Dropped 3 clubs, 1 shoulders and map fragment since I've camped him today. No dice on the shield :(
Tons of PH's. Seems to spawn on average 1 time per 4-5 PH spawns.
Slighty interesting tidbit, might mean something, might not. We killed him last night, once where he looked like the mob in the screenshot (Monkly) and once where he was shirtless and looked like a wild man wearing furs. The time he looked like a monk, he dropped his monk chest piece, and the time he looked like a mountain man, he dropped the gloves. Might mean something, might not, just thought I'd mention it.
Im sure that comes into play, but I just peek in the cave when running to HC or Orcs and Ive found him up 4 times in 2 weeks. Dropeed the knife 2x and legs 2x. Sadly both are lore so was able to get a guildie to loot knife, but I /ooc the pants 20 mins ago and no reponse I think they rotted. Ive never killed any mobs when I saw him. Hope this helps.
I would figure its for a quest, I sold it the first time I looted and when I saw it sold for 18silver, thats when I thought it might have value, I just got another and will hang on to it for a bit.
Camped for about an hour, dropped the Gossamer Cord.
Like someone above also mentioned, be careful killing these near the pillars as the corpse can get bugged inside of them and become unlootable.
I was able to get to this today as a 21 cleric. They were grey to me, and did not agro. The trick is, on the invisible wall, move all the way to the left, until you start to climb the left side. Then you can move up a bit, and shimmy inward towards your right.
Once inside, i just swam towards the chest from above, and floated down, and looted. Unfortunately, the only thing in the chest was a gemstone, and no quest item.
Would like to mention that when a Necro reaches level 18, they are able to summon a level 20 pet through the bone chip lottery. That pet has the Bash ability. If the Necro turns off the pet's bash auto-cast and sets their own keybind, They get access to a second interrupt that can be used every 20 seconds.
While crippling terror can be used as an interrupt in a pinch, it costs 4% of the Necro's mana, generates a fair bit of threat, and will sometimes allow the enemy to instant cast a follow up spell.
