Ash trees can be accessed at a lower level if you are careful around Wild's end. The best place I found is up north past the Northern binding stone along the Northern zone line near the green owlbears. You'll need to take a long curving path hooking around the North/Northwest hills to come at the area by from the West.
Finding these may be confusing when you're starting out because the Jungle Apple trees are so easy to see in Wilds End. But the Vine Maple Tree has a V shape trunk and a medium sized canopy of a very faded pink color- almost a pale mauve. The tree themselves look similar to a fully grown Crepe Myrtle tree.
Moon Lilies are sparse, I suggest you start collecting them early if you read ahead on quest lines. I had the most luck finding them around the 11th hour of the evening. The plant is tall and thin, similar to Jungle Herbs.
Jungle Blackberry bushes look like a dense fern cluster, about prairie grass height, with the images of berries within the leaves. It is surrounded with green particles of a rectangle shape and ribbons swirling (mostly) horizontally around the bush.
They are in, they're in the southern parts of Wilds End - see the heatmap on https://shalazam.info/monsters/466-muckjaw-snapper or the known locs here
I just completed this quest, and I must say for the 1sta 1wiz 2sp and 18m is really sad for the amount of work put in to get this quest completed. Player-made silver rings give me more mana with 3wiz and 10m. I know someone will say that 2sp and 18m is worth it, but as a healer, I do not see the difference as much. Replacing one ring, I lose 20m, and as a druid, that is a lot. All in all, great quest line as I enjoyed the journey, but the reward is really only for 2sp, which I believe we can get that elsewhere.
From a warrior perspective - This weapon is "OK" for tanking. The damage is good and so are the crit/hit/parry rating stats. However, the speed is too fast if you are going for higher outgoing damage/threat. I have both this and "Smolder, Crush, and Sunder" and the difference in outgoing damage per swing is very noticeable. From an auto attack perspective, Smolder hits at minimum 10-12 damage more per swing to upwards of 20-22 more damage per swing. Likewise, the higher weapon damage of Smolder contributes to your instant strikes (forward swing, pulverize|smash, Strike of Breaking, etc) doing more damage per use. This may be better for avoidance, but smolder is way better for outgoing threat and damage.
This is currently one of, if not the best, tanking weapons in the game for Warriors. High damage and the speed is at a "sweet spot." Strength boosts your damage and scales punish and retaliation. Stam gives you more +HP. Agility increases the scaling of most of your damage/threat abilities, while also giving dodge and parry. Plus native crit and parry rating. This is *way* better than the Cursed Soot blade for warriors.
If you search the abilities page for exposed, you'll get a list that you can peruse: https://shalazam.info/abilities?name=exposed
For example, the Summoner has Mana Pins which reduces mob resistances by 10%.
We used to have a couple of guides on these combat states but it was reworked so they became out of date and never got updated sadly.
Can't say I've experienced the same luck. He seems to spawn once out of every 20-30 placeholders. VERY rare and on what seems to be roughly a 12-14 minute spawn timer. So far I've been able to get him to spawn 7 times. Unfortunately, 4 staves and 2 tonfas, no shield.
I did this for over a month and could hardly get the named to spawn, much less gear. Gave up for awhile. Then last week I tried again and now i have 6 batons and 2 windblades. It is possible but that big ass bird is stingy.
I camped starting at 1AM PST on Stormona, since it's an EST server, only a handful of people on and I could farm all 3 shards. Respawns were consistently 18 mins.
Day 1: 3hrs, 4 named spawns ZERO gear.
Day 2: 4hrs, 7 named spawns, ZERO gear.
Day 3: 5hrs, 18 named spawns, ZERO gear.
Beginning to think this named is broken... On the plus side, all the Griffins con green to my 41 Rogue and was getting 0.12%/kill.
Dobian I have been told can spawn at any one of the First 3 fires after the first bridge. I can personally confirm the second fire ,left of bridge at the bottom of the stairs and the 3rd fire atop the next cliff ( the first fire at the top of the stairs).. I would say he has more then double a normal mobs hp
Do not move out of the ring of fire when she spawns on it on the ground. This is the purest form of tank and spank. Stack on the tank like his shadow and do not move until she is dead and the fire ring disappears a few moments after she dies.
Highest Stam + agility on any chestpiece currently in game, with some dodge rating to boost passive mitigation. Pretty good chestpiece -- but has less strength than the Charred Guardian Cuirass. https://shalazam.info/items/4300-charred-guardian-cuirass
Relevant Stat differences with this vs. Charred Guardian
+4 AC
-2 STR (impacts auto attacks + punish + retaliation)
-5 CON (impacts damage of shield slam + hammering blow + native hit rating)
+4 AGI (impacts damage of all technique strikes + smash/pulverize + storm + close the gap, also gives +parry and +dodge)
+3 STA (impacts health -- note that raw stamina is typically superior to +Health on gear because of cleric buffs boosting your raw stats)
+3 Fire Resist ( good for fire resist fights )
-3 Curse Resist
+27 Dodge Rating (this is about 1.5% dodge on the defensive stats of your character sheet -- passive mitigation is good)
Personally I think that Charred Guardian cuirass is better for outgoing threat (auto attacks have good scaling with strength, and weapon speed seems to impact this too. Slower weapons = bigger hits) but this chestpiece might be better for survivability and is great for Fire Resist gear. I need to get one to compare :)
